Hey guys,

I just purchased the Apple Bluetooth Headset today and while I am amazed by the accessories, I am less than happy with the sound quality. I'd like to hear from other users if they have the same experience or if I simply got a (sorry for the awful pun) bad apple.

Here's the problem I have on the receiving end of the conversation:

- The volume is very quiet. Outdoors it is definitely hard to understand what the other end is saying.

- There is a very audible hiss in the headset during any conversation. The hiss is always there and doesn't change in volume when someone on the other end is talking. It is constantly audible.

What is your experience with this? Are these problems that COULD be fixed via firmware update or is that the way this headset will always be?

Thanks

If the volume is low, I want nothing to do with the headset.

That issue plagues most BT headsets. I never understood why.

I'll just continue using the loudest BT set I've found. Plantronics 510. Ugly, but loud. Been through over 8 headsets, always come back to this one b/c of the loud volume.

In the very short time, less then two days, I had my Apple BT headset most of the calls we filled with the hiss you talk about.

I think I had one or two calls where the sound quality was okay, but it was far to hit or miss for $130.
