Hey guys,
Okay, the other night I plugged my iPhone into the charger (even though it was almost completely charged) because I didn't want to fall asleep listening to the iPod, I set the timer for 30 minutes and then to sleep. I woke up about 4 hours later feeling an intense heat and a blinking red light... and looked over on my nightstand and saw my iPhone, still on the charger, and saw that it had the low battery sign on the screen... the power wasn't off and the charger was still plugged into the wall. I went to grab the iPhone and I touched the screen and it was extremly hot... hot enough that if I held onto it for more than 5 seconds it would have burned me. I unplugged it really quickly and threw it on the floor. It immediately turned black and sat there for the rest of the night. I woke up at 6 in the morning and plugged it back into the wall. I took a 15 minute shower and I looked at it and it was completely fine... Not running hot or anything... I took it with me to work and I used frequently untill noon when I noticed that it was dead. I knew that a 5 hour life span was very short. Then a couple of days later, my volume button fell off. I called Apple to see what I had to do to get that fixed and they said that I had to send it in. They also asked if anything else was wrong. I told them about the battery, and they told me to hold on while they started recording and I had to state my case. I thought that kind of odd, but at the end they looked at my out-of-date warranty and are going to send me a brand-new one for free anyway because I could've been hurt. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if I should trust the iPhone looking at what has happened the last week...
(3G off; Push on (15 minutes); running on EDGE and Wi-Fi) Thanks anyone that can help.
