Good evening, I am almost there! Buying my iphone that is I am getting out from Nextel/Sprint!

I was curious at this point RE: the iPhone's calendar. I currently use MS Office but still have the 03 edition of outlook. Should I upgrade to 07 Outlook first or use ical? If I decide to go to ical is it something that I download or purchase? Should I do it before I purchase the phone or does the iPhone come with it?

I appreciate your help.

P.J.

Do you currently use a mac with OS X?

If not, I don't think you can download iCal for Windows.

If I can't use ical do I have any other options? When I get the iPhone what will it synch with if I don't use a PC that has outlook?

It can be done on Windows using MS Outlook. But please, do yourself a favor and buy a Mac. You will not regret it.

iPhone uses iTunes to sync with the calendar application you already use on your computer — iCal or Entourage on the Mac, or Outlook on a PC — just like it does with your contacts. If you don’t already use one of these applications to manage your appointments, now is a great time to start, so you’ll be ready to sync when your iPhone arrives. If you choose not to use a calendar program, that’s OK. You’ll be able to enter appointments directly into the iPhone calendar.
