Hi,

Offlate, the call volume in the iphone is pretty low. I am able to hear properly but the person on the other end is not able to hear me clearly. I already adjusted my phone volume to the max even then the other person is able to hear me merely.

Has anybody faced this problem earlier? Any work arounds?

My iphone's firmware is 1.1.4 jail broken with ziphone.

Thanks,
Justin.

not to sound silly but have you removed the protective film that originally came with the iphone?

i had this problem also and i didnt know why i could barely hear the caller, I have 2 iphones, an 8gb and a 16gb one.

the 8gb has its own protective film that i put on, but i realised that there was a hole cut out for the top earhole speaker and i noticed my 16gb still had the original film on it which covered that hole.

i cut that piece right out and now i can hear people clearly and they can hear me.

BUT if you dont have that there then i dont know why you are having such low volumes..

Of course, I have removed the protective coating which comes along with the iphone. But my problem is different, I have no problems in listening but the person who receives my call (or makes a call to me) is not able to hear me clearly.

i know this sounds dumb but you should always think of the simplest things first. The mic is on the bottom of the phone, and i have realized if you hold it a certain way the bottom of your hand rests right there so you cover it up, just a thought.
