Can anyone tell me why iphone only 3 mp camera pixel , LG & SamSung already release 8 MP pixel , Iphone need to create high pixel 3 mp not good enough

How big do you want to print the pictures out at. 3MP is fine for a 7" x 5" photo quality print.

3 MP is bigger than a HD screen.

The camera performs well in low light without a flash, which the 8+ megapixel phones don't.

The iPhone is much more than a camera though....

Then don't buy it. End of story. :D

Megapixels are worthless without a good sensor. Also end of story.

I'll bet you think that a 4GHz Pentium 4 is faster than a 2GHz Core Duo, don't you? :p

It isn't all about the numbers.

Well said.

2 of these is 8 MP camera

iPhone camera is good enough. You want 8MP, get an iPhone and get a DSLR or an 8MP digital camera. Boom, you got both.

Nope, get a LG 910 it has the very best camera and tons of other stuff on a touch screen phone
the iphone camera is crap, they should have gone to atleast 5MP

3Mp will satisfy some people, will not satisfy others. Simple.

Come to think of it, 8Mp will satisfy some people, will not satisfy others.

So, "is that enough?". Yes. And No.:confused:

The released info about the camera was somewhat of a surprise with me. I would think (please correct me if Im wrong) that a 3.2 camera with a better lens would be equivalent to a 5mp camera with an inferior lens. Im curious though to know why the US is so behind as far as camera phones are concerned? I worked for Verizon Wireless for seven years before moving to Greece last year, and I was surprised to see how many 5mp camera phones were available here, and we only had a 3.2mp available at the time. I had the LG Viewty (ku990) here before I got the iPhone, and it was really convenient to carry around only cell phone with a pretty good 5mp camera. Unfortunately, while the LG was a great phone trying to replicate some of the more popular iPhone features, it still wasnt an iPhone, so now I have my iPhone only, and carry the digi camera only when I need it.

It's really sad that people buying cameras with high megapixels yet have no clue what they're actually for.

a 3MP is more than enough for most people. It's enough to fill up a 1680x1050 desktop, it's overkill for facebook/myspace, and it will make 4x6 prints beautifully. The only reason you would even need more AT ALL is to make poster prints or to crop, but the general population don't even know what that means, so...

Yes, it's enough.

You ever think that people just dont fully understand the technology, people who arent you? I think whats "sad" is reading responses that include "really sad" and "no clue" in the first sentence.

Not my fault. I am not in charge of their intellectual development, and therefore am not responsible for people when they don't care enough to learn.

Ignorance: a lack of knowledge; please treat with respect
Idiocy: when you know that knowledge exists, but you don't care enough to learn; NO MERCY. :D

If people put the time into learning...and by time, I mean ten minutes, which is more than enough to learn that more megapixels =/= more quality. In fact, in most compact cameras, more megapixels = LESS quality.

But isnt asking questions a part of learning? What better place to ask your questions than in a forum, where there seems to be a lot of people who have years of experience and opinions? If I had a question regarding most of the things discussed on this site, I would much rather get the opinion/s of people on here that are experienced and willing to help, rather than solely find an article through Google.
