Hi!
I've had an iphone for a few months. It's a 1.1.1. I bought it in Florida and took it back home (Venezuela). I payed a guy who unlocked my phone and worked perfectly with my mobile provider.
Last week i updated my itunes to the latest 7.6, i sync my phone and charged it on the dock all night, without updating its software nor reseting anything, and the next morning i took it with me. The phone worked fine for a few hours but after a while i noticed i wasn't receiving calls and wasn't able to make calls.
The logo of my carrier had dissapeared from the top of the screen and also i had no signal, plus, i wasn't able to connect to the internet through wifi. the firmware was reset. When i went to Settings most of the fields went blank.
And a few minutes later a display came on saying something like "Iphone needs repair. Iphone can't make or receive calls. Contact apple.com/support".
I took it to the guy who initially unlocked it for the first time and he's telling me I'll probably not be able to use it again as a cellphone and it has no repair.
I was wondering if this is true or if theres a way i can unlock it back. I've read something about downloading the original firmware and virginize it or something...
If anyone can help me I would appreciate it a lot. I need my phone back!
