Hi all,

I want to develop a client/server application development using iPhone as my client. I dont want it to be web-based.

Can anybody suggest suitable environment for this, such as what programming languages to use and what database to use etc.

Thanks

If the iPhone is your client your only option for the client is Objective-C with SQLite for your database (assuming the database is on the client). For the server, use whatever you are most comfortable with.

iPhone Client/Server environment

Thanks for the reply.

If I decide to use servlets and Objective C (on iPhone), then how would I be able to communicate between them.

Do you think Ruby on Rails would be a better alternative ?

Does this mean that the iPhone can only use libraries provided by Apple, in order to communicate with a server?
