Seriously? After their seemingly anti-iPhone adverts? Yeah no, never. Ok not never but I bet no time in the next say ... few years.

the reason Verizon is doing that so they don't lose more customers to AT&T. They don't hate the iPhone nor Apple. Its just a marketing strategy. I think Verizon would probably welcome the iPhone any day.

I don't believe the iPhone will be on their 4G network anytime soon. And by that I mean at least a year if not longer. My neighbor is an attorney at Verizon's corporate office in DC, she's been telling me they have been building up a major 4G network.

I say iPhone on Verizon 4G in two years - Summer of 2011.

ANOTHER thread like this? really?

the iPhone has almost no chance of going to verizon. AT&T is giving Apple the biggest cut of their iPhone profits so Apple isn't giving that up. and verizon doesn'. their phones using any app store other than their own. AND verizon doesn't have SIM cards in about 98% of their phones, and Apple won't want to make an iPhone specially for them. and no carrier has 4G right now and won't have it any time soon

I say earlier than that. The tests in the south east corridor have gone very very well. I think it will correspond to the next iphone release.

Verizon sucks... go play w/ your storm and droid.

btw.... sure press technology.... the thing that was supposed to set it above the iphone..... hahahha how did that work out for them?

IF this were true would not someone see the the FCC filing, the Patent filings for the new board layout?
Would web site admins that parse their sites logs not see a safari mobile from a verizon network?

Granted iPhones are pretty ubiquitous so doubtful anyone would pay attention to some idiot going around saying "can you hear me now" :p

Incorrect. Many carriers including TMO and VZ already have 4G. Please don't post incorrect assumptions. Do a Google search on 4G, it's already out there. Plus, my neighbor works for Verizon's corporate office and she told me months ago they were building up their 4G network before I even realized 4G was a real network.

I don't have a Storm nor do I have a Droid. So, I don't know what you're talking about. I do have a iPhone 3GS and apparently I know more about the iPhone than you do. At least I can post without being a troll and bashing others.

Thanks for playing.

Perhaps you need to reread my thread AND do some homework. There are already confirmed reports that Verizon and Apple are testing the iPhone on their 4G network. Sorry to bust your "I want to troll/hate on everone" post but please do some homework.

Google does wonders if you search for information.

mroogle does wonder if you searched for the exact same thread 15 million times before you posted this one.

Verizon 80+million subscribers
Apple wouldn't be interested in even 10% of that 80 million? What about 5% (4 million iphones)
If Apple/Verizon sold 8 million iphones over a 2 quarter period that would be some serious cash. Let's just say $400 wholesale for each unit @ 8 million units that is $3.2 billion. Profit on that would surely be over a $1,000,000,000.
I don't know but that to me seems like an awful lot of money and market share to casually walk away from.
Imagine if they used the Sim slot for removable media.

apple and removable media.... funny.

Why is Verizon spending millions on ads to blast the iPhone????

Doesn't really sound like it is part of the master plan.....assuming they even have one. :)

It's apparent you don't really care about real information, but rather posting negative personal attacks to fulfill some sort of odd need of yours. Do some reading online, the Internet has a lot of information on the iPhone and the 4G network.

This is obviously not a troll thread, but you are a troll considering your replies have been nothing but personal attacks. If you have an issue with this thread report it to a moderator.

Thanks.

Specualtion on my behalf.
Apple likes to keep the market in the dark. Probably how this site got started.
So denial on apples behalf (if there is any) and verizon shaping their advertisements to fit apples marketing strategy might be the goal.
If verizon appears not to be moving forward with their phone technologies and selection then that may upset stock holders.

The article completely contradicts itself.

"The article states that according to their sources, said sources have confirmed that Verizon along with Apple have been testing a CDMA iPhone on the Verizon 4G LTE network."

Uh, what? If it's a CDMA iPhone, then it's not a 4G iPhone and it won't be working on the LTE network. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Maybe they're testing an LTE iPhone on the LTE network, but they're not testing a CDMA iPhone on an LTE network. 2 completely different technologies.

the rest of the world is bigger than america. Why would Apple make a CDMA iPhone for one market and GSM for the rest of the world?

You may not realize it since you are in Australia, but practically every manufacturer does exactly that, including Blackberry, HTC, LG. They all make multiple versions. I still don't think Verizon will sell it.

If they can fit both chips into the phone (which is technically possible), then I don't see why they wouldn't. Obviously Apple has to find a way to make it financially possible, but I don't think it is much of a technical hurdle that couldn't be solved in a year's time.

T-Mobile does not have a 4G network.
They are in the process of implementing HSPA+ (UMTS), which is still a 3G technology (3.75G, but not 4G).
They just updated all the towers in the Phoenix area a few weeks ago.
They don't have the backhaul to support 21 Mbps service, but the towers can support devices that use HPSA+.
