I was just browsing through stuff on my iphone 5 and it suddenly crashed on me. Usually, it'll just boot back up to the home screen/springboard but this time, it went and got stuck at the apple logo with the progress bar underneath indicating it was in "restore mode".

It was not connected to a computer at the time so I don't get why it showed up this bar. Connecting to iTunes gives me Error 0xE8000024 and there doesn't seem to be anything on google that helps.

I can enter DFU mode but as I was not expecting this, I did not have a backup. Does anyone have any suggestions how why this happened and how to kick it out of restore mode?

I would much rather not have to restore if there is another way.

Thank you
