Hi.
Yesterday, my screen wend totally bright, and then the iphone was totally dead.

I tried hard reset, DFU and nothing helps. iTunes does not respond to it either.

I'm trying now to charge it from the mains but it doesn't seem to help.

What can be done? HELP!

Gaby.

I would try restarting your computer, put the phone into DFU mode again and seeing if iTunes reconizes it. If you put it into DFU mode and iTunes didnt reconized it, its Time for the Apple store. That usually cures 90% of the issues.

I had this same problem with my iPhone 3g and was able to get a new one from apple. This problem, unofficially known as "the white screen of death", causes the phone's screen to no longer display images even if the phone is still on. For example, a person can still call you and you can slide your finger across where it would normally say "slide to answer" and you can talk as if your phone still fully functioned. If your phone exhibits this problem you can go to apple, tell them what is up and you will get a brand new one with almost no questions asked. All they do is look at it and make sure you didn't fry it electrically. The problem really sucks, but is covered by the warrantee, so no need to loose any sleep there.

I know this is extremely late, did a quick search on google and this is what came up, but I just had this problem 2 minutes ago just as stated from the OP. It was frustrating me and I was ready to destroy it, although it was an extremely easy fix, I guessed on what to do, and it worked. For future reference hold the power button and home button until the phone turns off, it took maybe 15 seconds.

Everything works just as it usually did.

ALSO I did not have my iPhone connected to my computer, nor was it connected to a charger.
