 I am getting sick of the iPhone dev community favoring Windows users first, and doing nothing for us Mac users until weeks later.

It does not make sense that an Apple product, and products such as QuickPwn for 2.1 doesn't make it to Apple's own computer's, the Mac first, instead goes to Windows users first.

Is it just me, or does the iPhone dev community seem to not care us about Mac users?

All I am trying to do is help my friend hactivate his 2.1 now useless iPhone because it is on the slide to emergency screen.

Where have you been? The Dev Team's releases are typically Mac first outside of QUickpwn and that was only because Quickpwn has to work differently on both platforms.

It should also be expected for there to be more exploits on the Windows end because Apple has the ability to lock down both sides of the connection between Mac and iPhone. A Windows machine is much easier to use in order to properly use an exploit because Apple cannot control it.

it's a windows world that the iphone lives in...

deal with it homie, just wait it out. i'm sure it will be here sunday or monday.

I would guess that the jailbreak from the iPhone Dev Team would be out in a week or so, not Sunday or Monday. These people have lives and work just as we do and it's just a hobby so give them some time. They also need to provide us with patches for iTunes for those people who want to create their own IPSWs.

I, however, think that Quickpwn will be the best method of jailbreak for now as it can be done without patching iTunes.

We don't even care about jailbreak for his phone, we only care about hacktivation, we really need his phone to work again. But the tools for hacktivation are all in Windows, and we only have Macs

WWWAAAAHHHHH!!!
Someone's not doing work the way you want it. Cry me a river dude. If you want it so bad you go jailbreak and release the code for Mac users. Be thankful that someone released the code for ANY operating system. At least that means it's been done and can be ported over(eventually).

SORRY that you get to hear windows users say 'hah I jailbroke my iPod' and 'sweet, it worked'. . .when all you can do is bitch and moan

Get a life dude

They go hand in hand. You need to jailbreak in order to activate the phone the way you want to.

You're ridiculous. They do it for free- be happy you get anything at all. The majority of the user base are windows users, so naturally, it makes sense. Also, perhaps from a development standpoint, it's easier to go windows to mac than it is to go mac to windows?

Has to be you. If you hit 'back' on your browser, you'll see a topic for quickpwn and pwnage for 2.1 that's Mac ONLY.

Was it working unlocked before? Did he upgrade it to 2.1? Why in the hell would he update to 2.1, if it was just released a day or two ago, and a suitable jailbreak and then a suitable unlock would take some time? Sounds like he deserved to have a 'now-useless' iPhone as punishment for not being able to read.

Appologies guys

Sorry for being such a pushover, about the restoring, and the 2.1. We were just working all night on his iPhone, and finally got 2.1 on there, unlocked, and working with his iPhone backup.

I was just frustrated, so I ended up posting all of this, my iPhone update went perfect, using the official apple way, and it was wrong of me to expect his to be the same because he probably unlocked his iPhone using a different method.
