because the iPhone program is purchased from the apple store online, does this mean we can use apple gift cards to purchase it? Can anyone confirm? Thanks in advance

I suppose you COULD use a gift card to purchase it, but if you plan to develop apps for a living or even to make back your investment in the program iteself you'll need to give Apple much more info than a simple credit card number. If you don't have a credit card you can use a debit card. If you don't have a debit card you're probably not old enough to get in the program.

I heard that you can give them bank account info and they transfer it or give you a check. Any of this true?

Apple store

You can definitely use a gift card to purchase the $99 solo developer kit. When you register to sell apps on the App Store, you have to provide a bank account for them to deposit your revenue from the store. If you do not provide bank details, you can still provide free apps on the App Store.

that's what I had heard. Thanks for the confirmation. I'm gunna go buy the program as soon as I have my app ready. Unless there would be a reason to buy it now?

I'd buy it about 1-2 weeks before you expect to have your app ready. That way you have that time to continue to work on your app while your contracts are being reviewed/processed. I have 2 apps sitting with a 'Pending Contract' status since I submitted one of the apps the same day I submitted the contract, and the 2nd app about a week later.

They take a lot of time setting up the contract, which you need to upload free/paids apps. Mine, 3 weeks later and is still in "setup in process". So take this into account.

It also depends on if your app needs to use the accelerometer or GPS or other features not found in the simulator. You have to pay the $99 to get the certificates to allow you to develop on a physical device.

Believe it or not it's a game without accelerometer or gps. But it's still unplayable with the mouse...

I think you can. When you set up your bank information, if it is outside USA, they ask for your bank's swift code, which is needed for international money transfer. I remember seeing Bulgaria in the list of countries.
