iPhone died, Replacing with used iPhone HELP!!

My 3G bricked this morning. No AppleCare

I have purchaced a lightly uesd 3G. To get it going is this the process?

Pull my SIM card.

Reset New used phone

Insert my sim card

Connect to iTunes

Restore my data.

If this is wrong please let me know.

Yes if you have a backup in iTunes ready.

It locked up when I went to upgrade the iPhone OS software.

Did you try a DFU restore before you bought the used one. You really can't brick an iPhone.

Spent an hour on the phone with tech support. They said it is a hardware issue.
