Take it to an apple store / at&t store?

Maybe call apple support, there may be a hard reset for it.

My phone was non-responsive last night. I had to hold the sleep/wake (top) button and the home (bottom) button for at least 10 seconds. It then reset itself and has been good so far. Hopefully it won't happen to me again.

They have trouble shooting tips on apple's website. That is where I found the solution to my problem.

1) DONT take it to an apple or att store... they will send you away! call tech if you need to..

2) the first thing they are going to tell you to do is reset.
•holding the home and sleep buttons for ten seconds youll see the apple logo appear and disappear and when it comes up again let them go.

3) if this dosent work force restore.
to do this fallow the same steps on the doc adapter and poof.
it tells you to connect to itunes.
the only option you have it to restore.

and if you call and tell them this it will cut your call time in 1/2
because they will make you do it anyway.

hope that helps.

and if nothing else there is the support page

apple.com/support

good luck

My wifes iPhone lost all network connectivity and the Apple store swapped it out for a brand new one on the spot. We didn't even have a genius bar appointment. You never know you might be pleasantly surprised.

Accept for the fact that Apple and ATT dont have any phones left. If I have WiFi enabled, my phone locks up completely. I have to literally unplug the router so it has nothing to connect to, then turn WiFi off completely.

Sounds like a busted phone to me :( I have no where to return it, and if I send it in to Apple, I will be without a phone for weeks.

Great...

that's not true~ apple always keeps a small amount of replacement units in stock. They come in a brown box but are brand new. When the iPod mini was in short supply a few years ago I had to replace 2 of them this way even though there were none to be purchased for a long time before and after mine were replaced in store. If its dead bring it into the store and they can replace it on the spot.

i had a very good experience with my apple store. i made a reservation and had little wait. the guy did a fresh re-install of the software and everything was back to normal. you can't get that type of help over the phone and i didn't even have to ship it anywhere. it was definitely a positive experience.

of course i royally f&*ked my phone which necessitated it :)

Agreed. I was trying to get an 8GB (which they had already sold out of)... right ahead of me was someone returning 2, so the store said they had to keep one as a replacement in case someone has to return a defective one, and they would sell me the other one.

So it seems that stores are attempting to use /sealed/ returns to get a bit of replacement stock.
