iPhone dropped!! Bottom no longer touch sensitive!

I just dropped my iPhone on a concrete floor and the bottom part of the screen is no longer touch sensitive. So the Phone, Mail, Safari and iPod are just pretty icons that do nothing now

I tried some app which apparently increases the sensitivity of touch and set it to maximum, but still no response from the bottom part of the screen!!

Now for the worst part... it was bought about a year ago and unlocked, so it is out of warranty and apple wont listen! Anyone has any idea if this is fixable? Of should I start using it as paper weight?

Well I cant actually.

But if i power it off and back on, it takes me directly to home screen

Wow, that sucks. I would try a 3rd party to repair it.

Unfortunately you are out of warranty. I have no Idea why you would think that Apple is responsible for helping you, I know of no company that would support a product once its out of warranty.

You have two options to fix your iPhone

a) buy the parts yourself

b) pay someone to do it

both options are not cheap

The cheapest you can buy a screen/digitizer is $170 +shipping

I never said I expected apple to fix it. I was just stating the situation!

I was totally aware of what I was getting into when I decided to buy and unlock it. I have been extra careful handling it all this while. But unfortunately my case-mate crapped out like a month ago and I have been using the phone without any case. Wrong time to drop it I guess

Nevertheless, thanks for the links. I paid only about 299 for the phone itself. Probably not a good idea to spend more than that to fix it.

I guess its bye bye iPhone for now!!
