I had my iphone jailbroke all summer and then after awhile I realized that my father's iphone was a lot faster. After I restored mine I had great signal and no problems. This weekend I decided to jailbreak again at 2.1 and now I have terrible signal and data speeds. I really want to keep mine jailbroke but I can't get good signal. I don't know if there is something I need to disable but its just terrible at the moment. I figured I'd inquire here before I just restore and go without the joy of a jailbroken iphone.

Also I found another topic similar to this and they just recommended redoing it and I've already done that.

I'm pretty sure the 2.1 Jailbreaking process no longer needs basebands to be downloaded separately but I'm not really sure at all. I have read stories where people downloaded the wrong baseband files pre'2.1 jailbreaking and have little to no signal after install.

Are you testing your phone's signal in the same place at around the same time?

Yeah I have tested the signal in many places and it is terrible. On the way to work I get multiple dropped calls where I use to never have a dropped call ever. I use to have fast data transfers also but now I'm lucky to be able to pull up google.

Are you getting these dropped calls and low signals on a 3G phone, or 2G? Cause i am pretty sure no current jailbreaking methods for 3G phones mess with the baseband in ANY way...so if your phone is a 3G phone, then this would certainly be an anomaly as the jailbreak process has nothing to do with the baseband...
