I'm just wondering if this is normal or if anyone else has this problem...

While I am talking on my phone on 3G, I will lose service, and it will drop the call. Since I'm usually talking on bluetooth, I watch on my phone as my 3G signal fades all the way down and drops the call, then as soon as my call is dropped I get full edge service.

I thought that the phone was supposed to switch between the two without a loss of service. Is that incorrect?

I have the same problem with my wifi connection. If I am trying to load a website and it begins to load on wifi and I leave the connection, it will continuously try to load it from the wifi connection until it finally fails to load the page and then as soon as that happens, it will switch to 3G.

Maybe I am just ignorant, but I thought that this was supposed to be a seamless process to switch between these?

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated....

Every once in a while I notice this happening. But more times than not it seems pretty seamless. It could be the iPhone hardware/software or it could the network or it could be a combination of both.

Either way, I don't seem to notice this too much. Hopefully it gets better for you though.

Welcome to the world of AT&T.

I know everyone has their opinions on cell service but I've been with AT&T for 5+ years after using tmobile and verizon and AT&T has been the best for me by far.
I've had my 3G since release day and this issue is either getting worse or it's just something that's been happening and I'm just starting to realize more and more...

Something else I didn't mention is that probably 75% of the time I'm on a phone call and the other person hangs up first, it shows on my screen that the call failed and then when I unlock my phone, it starts to call the other person back. Anyone experience this?
