Okay, I bought a (used) 2G iPhone for when I am in Canada to use with my Rogers PPD.

I want to install the new firmware but of course I need to unlock it to. I have unlocked it once before using simple mode on pwnage tool.

So I have the pwnage tool and I want to choose expert so I can disable the custom icons.

My choices are activate the phone and enable baseband update on the general tab.

What the heck are these for?

Thanks!

Still looking for help here-on the Mac version of pwnage tool-what are the baseband and activate phone options for?

Wanting to Pwn 2.1 for my Edge only iPhone.

Okay, if you ONLY want to change the boot logos, don't change anything else, just the boot logos. It will be the same as simple mode, but without the pineapple. My general policy is: "If you have to ask questions on something, don't touch it." That's up to you to decide though...

Just wondering if I need to activate the phone or not? I think on my 3G-if I choose to activate I get no service and if I don't I do get service?!? Weird, that may be backwards but I think that is the way it is.

You want it checked for a 2g iPhone. And I don't think it really matters whether you select to update the baseband, as there hasn't really been a baseband update for the old iPhone in a while.
