iphone email

This may be a dumb question but is there a way I can stop my out going/sent emails from showing up in my inbox on my iphone

I send a email out and then a few seconds later it shows up in the inbox along with my sent mail

I am using gmail if that matters

There is an option under Settin>Mail to alway CC yourself. Make sure that is turned off. I believe with gmail it always CC you though.
