iphone error messages

my iphone froze and when i was trying to restore it, i got an error message.
this is the text i got from the latest version of itunes: "the iphone "iphone" could not be restored. an unknown error occurred (6)."

i believe my firmware is corrupt or something like that. can someone help me PLEASE!!?

am i totally screwed?

maybe you can try updating itunes. or use another computer to restore (i always get an error restoring with my own computer but it works with another). or try creating a new account on your computer and restore it in that account with itunes.

what firmware are you on by the way?
