Have an iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 13.3.1 with a 16" MBP with the latest updates to Mac OS X, but my iPhone fails to synch. I get the error message: The iPhone xxx could not be synched because the synch session failed to start. this happens with any cabled connection as well as with the wifi synch. Any suggestions? Have restarted everything.

1 what are you trying to sync?

2 what app (or preference setting) is trying to do this sync?

Sounds like a space issue. Check how much space you have left on your ssd drive on your computer and how much space is used up on your phone... you need to have a lot of extra space on your computer for the sync/backup to complete. Also in itunes click on the backups in preferences and see how many old ones or precious backups you you may have to delete some. I backup to iCloud with mine, it took hours the first time and I have a fiber connection.

No, space is not an issue. Second reboot of both MacBook Pro and iPhone seems to have resolved the issue. Sigh, wish there had been a better error message, but it is what it is.

Anyway, as we used to say in the computer software support business "TWA" (trouble went away).
