So here is the story i was hanging out near my pool kind of drunk and some of my friends threw themselves to the pool and pulled me in with them with my iphone in my pocket , since i was kind of drunk i didn't realized this at first and realized this after having swam for like 3 or 4 min.... so i want out as soon as i figured out what was in my pocket and then got it out. i noticed my iphone was getting warm as hell and it just kept getting warmer... there was this strange red led right next to the speaker a bit dim but noticeable which i have not figured out what is this for. i tried to disassemble it and unplug the battery but id didn't because i was kind of drunk and had nobody to help (yes the rest of them were wasted as well) so i just made it lie down to dry. It got to normal temperature after like 10 minutes. next day i wake up and disassemble it and left it dry for a day or so. i dried the screen but haven't really done anything to the circuits part just put them to dry but have not disassembled and dried it separately it has been two days since this.. by now everything looks pretty dry to me looking it from the inside( a bit of white residuals but not that much in the circuit board) so today i put the thing together again and nothing happens when try to turn it on....plug the charger and still nothing happens.. so this means is this ****ed up for good or just should wait more? any recomendations?
P.s. learnt the lesson never going near any body of water with my phone on me.. o and for the drunk part well thats a maybe...

Well thats any hope of a return gone by taking it to bits, probably did it the world of good.

Oh your mates owe you a new iPhone :D

...:(

Sorry, man, it sounds like it's a goner.

There's some threads around where people have successfully resurrected iPhones with water damage, but I don't know.

Best bet would've been the rice trick where you place it in a bag of rice and let it draw some of the moisture out.

Sounds like your boys owe you a new phone. That thing is dead.
