Good evening,

I have bought a unlocked iPhone once it came out. Presently, I'm using version 1.0.2 and would like to upgrade to the latest version. Is there a idot-proof procedure that I could follow without having a bricked iPhone?

Thanks in advance for your response

Press the Restore button in iTunes.

assuming you have a mac:

Update to 1.1.4 through iTunes
Download PwnageTool (from iphone-dev.org)
Click "Browse IPSW"
Find the .ipsw in Home/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates/
Click iPwner and follow instructions
Click IPSWBuilder
Check Neuter Bootloader; this should also check Unlock Baseband and Delete BootNeuter.app - Activate Phone should be (and be left) checked
Once PwnageTool has created your custom ipsw, apply it to your iPhone by alt-clicking on Restore in iTunes.

Et Viola.

Oh, after applying your custom firmware, BootNeuter.app will launch itself and do some magic - don't interfere!

pps - you'll need to find bootloaders.rar - do some searching on here/hackint0sh
