iPhone from frqnce not working in the uk

Hi, my mate bought a ipone from france to the UK. it workd fine in france, but in the uK it says invalid SIM when i put in a o2 sim. What can i fo to make it work.
Its a 4GB 2G Iphone.

iPhones bought in France are locked to carrier. However they can unlock the iPhone for a fee, upon your request.

You need to unlock the phone. Then it will work.

1. Back up the phone

2. Update to 3.0 with iTunes

3. Unlock it with RedSn0w:
