Like with most software related mags, by the time an issue comes out, the apps already have 20 reviews on the web. And with the frequency of App Store updates, by the time the mag is published, there could already be several changes to the app, possibly rendering the reviews/news obsolete.

magzines? huh......?? magazines are so 1995.
why anyone on earth would subscribe to a periodical is beyond me. ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you could ever want is at your fingertips INSTANTLY via the internet.

I dunno-I still subscribe to MacWorld and MacLife-sometimes it is nice to lay down on the couch and HOLD a magazine, flip instantly to page 43 if I need to-and NOT HAVE TO INTERACT with a computer...
i can appreciate that mindset...but the instant counter-arguement to anything anyone has about periodicals is this:
the moment you receive your periodical (mail, store, etc) it's already OUTDATED.
That is true for technology and frequently ads-but the feature stories are generally less time sensitive-and that is what takes the most time to read

not sure i agree with that. as an example, let's use this years election. let's say you wanna read about the DNC and RNC. you can either:
A) wait for your NewsWeek/Time, etc periodical to come in the mail and read about it and see what coverage there was. because these periodicals come out weekly, you could theoretically be 1 week behind in information and during that week, some important political development could have occurred. plus, you only get the view of the writer of that article....no talk back, no forums discussion, no links to other related items.
or
B) you could log onto CNN.com/MSNBC.com, etc and read up-to-the-MINUTE data/updates, interact and share your thoughts with millions upon millions of other users across the world, follow links to developing stories, see images and videos of the convention
i don't know about you.....but choice A died back in 1995....
Gawd, I would NEVER subscribe to a NEWS magazine-I get my local paper but ONLY for local news-
That being said, This month's cover story in Mac World (one of anyway, favorite web sites) really isn't all that time urgent
