iphone getting stuck

There are so many variables in the word "stuck". So please help me, help you by answering these questions:
1. Where are you? [country]
2. Legit carrier or unlocked?
3. Which iPhone model?
4. What software version?
5. What are trying to do on the iPhone that makes it stutter?

At the beggining I used 2.2.1, i tried to update and then my iphone started to get stuck when with sim card, before the phone worked fine.
I upgraded to 3.0. At first the phone worked fine but after 2 days, same thing. Now the phone works without the sim card since i put the card in it after couple of seconds it turns off.

Try Restoring all the way to 3.0.1 and setting the phone up as new. That way any conflicts in settings are eliminated. Also, keep the SIM card inside while you are doing everything.
