Hello there,

I apologise if I place this in the wrong section.

My iPhone 6 got stolen yesterday and I'm now trying to find my back-up to see when the most recent-back up happened. But, I can't find it anywhere? Won't show up in iTunes and I can't locate it on my hard disk.

Does anyone know how I can find it?

Do these back-ups contain ALL information that was on my phone? I had over 20k photos... would be great if I'd still have them all.

Thanks in advance for any potential help.

If on a Mac:

Macintosh HD/Users/your user name/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates/

That folder should show the IPSW recovery files and dates (in other words the date you made the backup). Your user library folder is hidden by default so you will need to unhide it first.

Backups are saved in /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup but you can't force iTunes to open them. If you look in the iTunes preferences under devices, you don't see any backups?

Those are not the backups of the device, but rather cached copies of iOS installers. Backups aren't saved as ipsw files.

go to iTunes
click on preferences
click on devices

all your device backups are date and time stamped there
i think when u connect a new device and it will stay restore from backup you can hold down the option key for more info?
