Hello,

I have an old iPhone 4 which I would like to turn to a GPS tracking device, however there is no internet connection or cell service since I port my number to iPhone 5 already. I tried some free apps but they all require internet connection to work.

I would like to ask is there any GPS tracking/recording apps that will do the work? I can access to my iPhone 4 everyday I just need to put the phone on the car I am tracking.

Thanks

There are GPS programs (driving directions) that work without internet. TomTom, Garmin/Navigon.

If you are looking for a lo-jack type app or "find my iPhone" app, then no.

Hi
I am not looking for navigation app.
The app I want is to record the route where the iphone goes, since there is no internet connection so I can't locate the phone. What I want is to record the route and later when I retrieve the phone to a wifi connection area it can show on maps the route where the phone have been

Got'cha, not sure about that.

Maybe a hiking app or something like that.

GPS Kit, AllTrails, Route Traker, or Gaia GPS?

Is that admissible in divorce court?

LOL, I was thinking it might be to find out where the current girlfriend is going at night.

Try Runkeeper??? Works great in the car, but I have never tried it without Internet. Should work though, I'd imagine, would really affect battery life though.

Yep one if the running/cycling apps will do the trick. You can't connect to the device live but at the end of the day you could see where it has been. The phone will need to be plugged in though!!

Thanks for the info guys.
Just downloaded RaahTracker hope this one works out.

I ever meet such problem before, after the high recommendation of one of my good friends, I got a cell phone antenna booster, everything is OK now. You can have a try!

Nice non-reply to dig up a practically 2 year old thread.
