Ok, so my iPhone 3Gs 16gb got error 28 (hardware error). And I have to replace something inside the phone. If I make a appointment with the Genius Bar at a Apple Store, and they fix it for a reasonable price, will I be able to JB and Unlock to run T-Mobile after they fix it? Or is there a store that can fix that near Los Angelas, California?

I want to know if I would be able to JB and Unlock before I go.

Also the dealer said that it was a FW problem when they tried to fix it and they said me updating to 3.1.2 is bad and that the 3.1.2 cant be JB/Unlocked. But when I updated I was able to get it to work for a week. JB and unlocked. Then it got stuck in recov mode and now it wont even turn on unless I plug it into something. After plugging it in it shows recov mode the USB and the Itunes Logo.

Thanks!

i think it all depends on what hardware they replace, im not sure what specific hardware causes the jailbreak to become "crippled" but if they replace anything but this said "item" you should be fine.

just wait for someone who knows what this piece of hardware is to clearify more.

Unless they replace it with a brand new one, the odds are pretty good that you can jailbreak and unlock, I just got mine replaced and it works fine.

Geniuses are really sticklers about assisting with JBed iPhones. Just to be sure that they'll help you you should unjailbreak it because they will check

How do I check if my phone's JB if its always stuck in recov mode, i cant do anything with it.
