Nothing has been confirmed about iPhone HD. Even it's existence is an unknown.

Yes. Mine works fine thanks.

Blame AT&T if tethering isn't available in the US, but here in the UK I've been using it for ages.

It's not "confirmed" but there are PLENTY of references to stuff in the SDK.

The references to the device don't mean it will materialize come June/July. We expect a new phone given the previous life cycles. However, nothing is 100% certain.

It still hold validity. Tethering is offered on a per carrier basis. Apple built the framework into the OS, it's up to the carrier to enable it. Or you the end user can enable it thru a small hack.

No word about tethering. I still have Benm tethering on my iPhone OS 3.O. I won't get update OS and don't lose tethering. If OS 4.0 is coming, require new tethering. I dislike AT&T s waste time to do it under development.

That would play havoc with the already wavy phone connection.
