Ok i know this is kinda old and call me lazy for not wanting to look through the 67 pages of posts to look for the answer but do old headphones work with the iphone without messing anything up? Cuz the only reason i still use my ipod nano is cuz i have a cassette adapter in my car, but if it will work with my iphone i will prolly sell my ipod but idk if it does.

Yes, any set of headphones will work with the iphone, except for the fact that the phone has a recessed jack and some headphones or accessories with a wider base might not fit. There are a number of solutions to this problem including stripping away the excess material from your accessory or purchasing an adaptor (as available from the apple store).
