Hi my name is Sal and im getting into apple thing got my computer a couple of months ago and now im looking to get the iphone. The only thing is that this whole new iphone thing next month is so confuzing, if i bought one today will i be able to do a firmware upgrade so it will work on 3g or do i have to wait for the new phone to come out and buy it 3g i cant get a straight answer thank you in advance for your help.

The curent iPhone isn't capable of using the 3G network, you'll be able to get the new firmware on a 1.0 phone but the 3G will require a new handset.
