Hey guys.

I'm having trouble unlocking/jailbreaking my iphone. I recently tried to update to the latest 2.2.1 firmware but accidentally restored my iphone back to the factory settings. Now my simcard is not being read and since i have upgraded to the latest itunes, i cant even restore or anything because the iphone is locked. I'm pretty sure it's bricked.

I've downgraded itunes in hopes of upgrading the software but still no luck. Tried earlier versions of pwnagetool and nothing. I've been trying to get back onto any hacked firmware but i don't know why, nothing seems to be working.

I've read the FAQ and didnt quite get what i was looking for, maybe because i didnt understand it and i apologise for making a thread if it's not warranted.
If anybody could direct me to some help or another thread where this has been discussed please do so.

Thanks in advance
any help appreciated.

Ah sorry skippeda couple details

iPhone 2g
and using a Macbook 13" the white ones, picked it up before the new macbook came out.

I've used that list and gone through all of them but none of them seemed to work.

With each one, i usually couldnt get past the "put iphone into recovery mode" and everytime it gave me that, i was in recovery mode. With the cable pointing to the itunes logo.

I read something about a yellow arrow but i was not sure if the yellow arrow appeared on the iphone or in itunes. I saw it in itunes but never on the iphone.

I've used that one, Step 8 never happened and when putting the iphone in DFU mode and then opening Itunes, it tells me that the iphone cant be read and that i need to disconeect and reconnect it.

once thats done, nothing happens.

I've also gotten upto the final step and i recieve this error

"The iphone "iPhone" could not be restored an unknown error occured (21)"

I have no problem installing the normal ipod firmware but once tried with the custom one i recieve that error. After costantly looking around for solutions, my iphone has been revirginized and will not allow me to do anything, as none of the above jailbreaking methods have worked.

Yeah got nothing once again!
i ended up taking it to a shop and asking them to unlock it
cost me 65 dollars, oh well, its good to have the phone back.

Thanks for the help :)
