iPhone Home Button (3G owners)

How many of you have their iPhone home button becoming rather unresponsive? 6 of my friend and including me, 7, who owns an iPhone have our home button becoming unresponsive.

And, we went to replace a set but all out unit warranty was voided, guess what? Liquid submersion indicator was triggered, ALL OF US. It's pretty unfair for all of us.

Not even 1 of our iPhones was submerged or ever near water. I'm really dissapointed with my carrier and Apple, thinking that I'm the first person to purchase my iPhone in my country on the second day of launch.

For all the support, all I'm getting is such service and paybacks.

And, I've been with my carrier for decades I could say, with no outstanding payment each months. This is ridiculous.

That happened to my 2G. Drop it on the ground on it back may loosen it up.

Any chance that one of your friends took your iPhones and water-damaged them while all of you crashed on the floor of a lodging after an alcohol-filled night with a stripper and licorice.

This is happening to me with my 3GS. I did notice that the problem went away for awhile after I rebooted my iPhone. But noticed it returned. So is it a software issue?

Did you notice this problem starting after updating to 3.0? My girlfriend has a 3G and swears that after updating she now has to click multiple times before her screen will turn on.

Hmm - that's an interesting idea. Since I updated my 1st Gen iPhone to 3.0 before getting my 3GS, I will check to see if the same problem occurs on my old iPhone. I never had any trouble with my 1st Gen phone's home button.

yes i can assure you that it is a software bug, me and my two friends having the same issue after updating to 3.0 software. Hope apple fixes the bug soon.

I'm having the problem defiantly software related imo doesn't seem to want to wake up. once it does it's fine. really irritating it just seem to start in the last week or two. I'm on 3.0 still.

My 3G home button just started becoming unresponsive about a week ago. I either have to push harder than usual or push multiple times for it to respond. It's especially annoying when I'm trying to double-push to get the iPod app to come up, but the second push doesn't register and it ends up taking me home. Sigh. It's not worth the trouble of having Apple look at it... I'm just going to wait until it becomes annoying enough for me to break down and buy a 3GS.

The button works, I just don't get taken back to the home screen sometimes. Happens when I'm on the phone majority of the time.

End Call fixes it. And if I'm in an app, reboot fixes it. 3GS, jailbroken.

I remember when my 3G kept dropping all my calls after only 3 weeks out of the packaging. I took it into the Apple Store and the jackass guy behind the counter took out some weird light, shined it into the headphone jack and then says, "nothing I can do because this shows me the phone has been submerged in water".

At first I laughed because I couldn't believe he was serous. My laughter quickly turned to anger as I explained to him that the phone was only 3 weeks old and had NEVER even been near a drop of water. After arguing with him in front of multiple other customers, I walked out and drove 10 minutes to the next apple store.

This time the guy at the counter plugged it into his computer and ran a PROPER diagnostic. The diagnostic showed that I was dropping 40% of all my calls even from day 1 of owning it. He quickly replaced the phone and sent me on my way.

I think the $9/hour Apple employees have to much authority to use the "submerged in water" excuse to avoid replacing or fixing products that we've paid a pretty penny for.

On my 3G (jb 3.0) it happens daily, but it only take a second try to work so its not a huge problem. MY phone is PERFECT, no dust, hairline cracks, light leak, nothing. So instead of getting a replacement that might not be as good I just ignore this tiny problem and stick with it.
