My 1st gen 8gb iphone's home button does not work. I think it's hardware related. I tried to restore the software but itunes does not detect the phone. I tried two iphone usb cables and it still won't detect and won't charge the phone. for some wierd reason the iphone will still recharge in my car charger.

Is there a place in the usa that will fix my iphone for a reasonable price? My iphone is unlock and jail broken and not under warrenty.

thanks

I don't know what the deal is with your computer and such, but my boyfriend's g3 phone has the same home button issue. He took it to Apple and they used compressed air to clean out the area under it and the reinsalled the firmware. I know you can't go to Apple but you might want to try that out. Of course, it didn't work for my boyfriend but I am sure it has worked for someone.

Good-luck.

Just a thought, but are you sure the USB port you are using works? I would try a diff computer.

usb ports work fine. I tried it on 3 different computers, vista, xp, osx. Also it will recharge in the wall. Sometimes on the computer (only when battery is low). But when the phone is in recovery mode, itunes and the computer does not see the phone.

Iphone

I will buy for iphone for $140 and i pay for shipping and home if the home button is only problem?

The home button and sync connector are on the same ribbon assembly, so possibly something has gone wrong with it. I'd say you might need to get a repairer to have a look at it.
