Iphone: how to get it in canada?

right now i'm am on a family plan with rogers. is it possible for me to drive to america buy the iphone come back and put my rogers sim card in it and continue everything as normal or would there be more complications than that

if that doesn't work how can i get the iphone. preferably by driving to the states and picking it up, cause i don't want to pay 200 extra

Either when it officially launches, or get one, unlock it, then use your Rogers SIM.

but i heard that the rates will be through the roof, cause i don't have an y data plan. so does that mean when i'm not on wifi i can't use the internet unless i want to pay out my ass
