As I understand it, you are required to have a two year contract with ATT for iPhone to be considered ACtivated.

If you activate then quit your ATT contract, and even try NOT syncing again, the iPhone itself wil cancel itself in 4 months (did I get that right?)

So, two senarios-

1) You fulfill your 2 year contract. Decide to go back to Verizon or whatever, with whatever phone Verizon has at that time... will iPhone still work as a PDA/iPod since you have fulfilled your contract?

2) OK, same question, but what if next week I cancel my ATT contract and pay the cancel fee. I have fulfilled my contractual obligations in some respects...

Just curious if I have an iPod in two years... or a brick.
