Whenever I have my headphones plugged in and I make or get a call, the iPhone mic desnt work. These are Sony headphones and I tried with them on another iPhone and it worked fine. Is this a setting I've missed or a bug?

It's expecting there to be a mic in the headphones plugged in, as in the normal iPhone headphones. Just to check -the headphones you talk about don't have a mic in them? They should work as normal headphones in any iPhone.

There is no mic. in these headphones. I tried them on my friend's (psychofreak on here) iPhone and it worked fine. I assume it is expecting an iPhone headset but this is just stupid. Is it a hardware problem?

EDIT: Just plugged in my sister's normal iPod headphones and now normal headphones work. Awesome.

hey, glad to hear u fixed your problem. but just to clarify...if you have regular headphones (no mic) connected to your iphone, and you are listening to music, and suddenly someone calls you, can you listen to them through your headphones? but more importantly, since the headphones dont have a mic in them, how can the hear you talk back? will the iphones built in mic still be activated, so you can talk into the iphone mic while listening to them through your headphones?

Thanks!!
