iPhone Installer App Download Issues!!!

Okay so I have a iPhone 8GB 1.1.4 and I jailbroke it a while ago and everything has been great so far.

Except for one thing.
Many times now I see a great application I really want. But when i choose to download it I get an awful too familiar message taht says, "Error, Package download failed!"

I hate it!
I've tried everything, cleared the cache, reset my iphone, restored it, reinstalled Installer, restored it and re-jailbroke it, cleared the queue. I've even dug around like CRAZY for other sources for that same Application and the same thing happens! And they are applications that are very popular like the GBA emulator or VNsea.

Another thing I am frustrated with is the fact that many themes i really like dont work on my SMBprefs (SummerBoard). Like the Windows Vista Ultimate Theme that I see everywhere. It downloads fine and appears in my themes list. I apply it, the iPhone soft resets, I slide the unlock, and guess what? I get the stock iPhone theme them with my default wallpaper in the background. NO THEME!


Can anyone help me with these two problems please?

Have you tried updating Installer?

Yeah i had the same problem....

If delete all the packages you have. The first thing you do is to Install BSD subsysten(very important) Then i would reccommend Community sources.

Try it out now

Remember to clear the queue before installing BSD Subsystem.

yupp already updated installer to the latest version

Update the Community Sources. Worked for me.

BSD Subsystem is the 1st thing I installed on my phone. So its not that.
And I clear the queue before any install.

Did you actually download the source again or just refreshed it? If you indeed downloaded it, then i'm sorry. I would restore the phone, and then first thing of all update the community sources. Thats what I had to do ultimately.

yes I did. And this is my 3rd restore already. I don't know what else to do. I hate restoring cause it takes hours to get all my music back onto the phone.

I've run out of ideas.
