Anything else?

I asked about iOS because Google considers anything before iOS 7 as "less secure" and you have to "allow" them if you're not on two-step verification.

Perhaps enabling two-step verification (which I recommend) and creating an app-specific password for iOS Mail would clear this up.

I tried that before but no luck. Went to the Apple Store and they said it was a google issue and when I email google on it no one knows why. Does anyone else have this problem that you know of? Can't just be my account that has these issues. It fetches mail perfectly fine it is only when I search for mail that it comes up with that error.

I don't have 2 step on but tried it once. Don't think I would need it.

Haven't seen the search-only issue.

If you want to dig into this further you could create a brand new Gmail account (for experimentation), leave it with the default settings, send a few emails in and out of it and then attempt a search. If a different account works, it could be something about your current Gmail setup.

Have you tried changing your Google password?

Have tried literally everything.

Is there any other setting it could be? On my computer using mac mail I don't have this issue
