iPhone/iPad Web Cam

Is there any apps out there that I can turn my iPhone or iPad into a webcam that OSX will recognise as a proper webcam to use within applications such as Skype etc?

I don't think it's designed that way, you can you the Skype app on the iPad though.

Yeah I realise that. To be more specific it will be for Skype for Business for work related stuff and I have a MBP connected to a external monitor so I can't use the camera on that.

Just search Webcam apps. I never used any but I've seen quite a few in passing. PocketCam and EpocCam come to mind probably plenty of others.

Yeah I've seen loads but I don't know if they will specifically do what I need

I believe the 2 I listed should.

EpocCam claims it uses the camera just like a USB webcam for 3rd party apps like Skype.
