Just got the new iPhone 4S and installed the newest iTunes, etc... looking forward to the wireless syncing feature. Yes, I do have "sync over wifi" checked and it does work... however my iPhone and iPad (not necessarily both at the exact same time) won't stay connected to iTunes for more than a few hours and inevitably vanish from being connected under "Devices" on the left side of the iTunes screen.

It gets to the point where I can't even get my iPhone and/or iPad to stay connected to iTunes over wifi. Note: the phone and iPad ARE connected to my wifi network just fine, no problem with the wifi connection). For example my iPhone shows up in iTunes "Devices" when plugged in via USB (like it always has), but as soon as I unplug the USB cable the iphone immediately vanishes from devices. I figured out that if I close iTunes and restart it, it will usually begin to work, and the iphone will remain in "devices" once the USB cable is unplugged. But only for a few hours, inevitably it will disconnect and i'll have to exit iTunes, restart it again, etc.

Anyone have this same problem? Any ideas? Thanks...

I have the same issue with 2 iPhones. I don't believe iTunes is handling multiple devices over Wifi very well. I usually get error messages as well such as cannot connect. Restarting iTunes usually fixes it.

Remain connected without issues....this could be a router issue, I use a pretty high end Draytek gigabit model, never loses connection on anything.

Did you two find any answers to your issue? My iPad won't stay connected to iTunes. It's an iPad 2 and I am using Lion. Just curious. Judy
