Sorry if this has been asked before but is there a limit on the number of applications that can be installed?

I have downloaded over 120 applications from the app store since its release. Most have been free and after having a quick look at most of these I uninstalled them from the phone. I don't delete them from iTunes, never know if some future enhancement might have me reconsider using it. I seem to find about 20 or so is all I really want at any one time.

Well today I needed to do a full rebuild because of the app problems several here have reported. I couldn't recover from a backup so it resulted in a complete reset/rebuild. I wasn't watching the progress and with other things going on I just let it run. When it completed it had installed all 126 applications in my collection. I set about doing some cleanup but it did bring up this limit question. I know it's not a space issue as even installing all of these apps I used much less than 1gb of space on the phone.

Does anyone know if the iPhone will support more than 150 apps or 200 or unlimited (limited only by available space) installed at one time?

crash!

i had 128 apps from the appstore installed before i tried to sync. i added 6 apps before the sync, making it 134 total...it started to sync the first few and then the iphone went into recovery mode=****ed!

i dont know if it happened to crash because my phone is hacked or if it was due to a app limitation...but i had categories installed so about 70 of my apps were in folders so it wasnt due to a springboard overload. let me know if any of you have had similar problems.

i have over 12 on mine. last year when i got it i had over ten in the first month. anyone know the TRUTH on this rumor

How slow is it backing up when you sync? I've avoided filling mine up since my backing up is slow enough already with 5 pages.
