I have a feeling special version will release after another 2-3 weeks , who agree

last yrs 8/8+ sold on Sep 22 release date
X w sold on Nov 3 releas date

5.8 6.1 sept 21
6.5 nov 3rd >> close to christmas

The iPhone X was delayed to November 3 last year as it was a complete new product, Apple's first product with an OLED-screen and Face ID. Especially Face ID and the slow pace of OLED production last year caused the delay. Now, this year, all they have to do is getting bigger screens and maybe improve Face ID.

This will be a spec bump upgrade, no new designs. Also, I have not seen any production process problem articles. For these reasons, I voted no.

Apple is marketing , even not issue production like last yrs but if they doing that they will sell more iphone , why should they ?

5.8 , 6.1 sell saparate date
6.5 saparate date

this could bring up more sell for them

i believe this how they do again :apple:

they wont sell the 5.8 and 6.5 on a separate date. The only excuse for doing so is production issues, which we've heard nothing about; therefore we can assume there aren't any major production isues and both phones will be released at the same time. The 6.1 is delayed for production issues, and it's also beneficial as those who need an upgrade now but would have wanted the XR may end up just buying the Xs. I doubt Apple is doing that on purpose though. You want to capitalize on the buzz right away.

Just a launch. No leaks to set expectations low because of problems or drive up demand. Apple wants smooth sailing and selling

Considering last year when the iPhone X launched, it was predicted no one would receive their device until after January/ February 2018, when Apple had plenty of stock with very little shortages. Let’s just wait to see how the pre-ordering goes for most on Friday.

I wouldn't be surprised if the MAX didn't release for another few weeks or Nov... I would NOT like that but the way apple has gone lately.... and new management/team, wouldn't surprise me at all!!!

Leaks last year talked over and over again about the disaster with Apple's supply chain, and we knew beforehand the iPhone X would be late. No such news this year, so no.

I agree. They want a smooth launch because the Samsung. It’s was launched a month ago and next month is the Pixel 3 lineup. Perfect timing for a smooth Apple launch.

My guess >>> :)

Those leak 5 or 6 colors actually for 5.8 or 6.1 version sell on 9/21 and the special apple will be released in November, they are not fooled to sell all size at the same time, that's the apple business, this way selling they can sell more, even buyers when buying the 9/21 model and when selling the November model they will buy again, which is usually act:apple:

Selling the xr or cheaper iPhone at a later day is the smart play. They may get a couple of people to be impatient and just buy an Xs for more.. also you get another round of free advertisement. And a complete lineup heading into the holiday season

If this happens I am going to my carriers store and picking up a Note 9. Unfortunately I need a phone now and am not waiting til November for the Xs Max.

Two separate dates will not increase sales for them. All two dates does is allow them to space out their inventory shipments and the amount of stuff the sales folks are juggling at release.

The pre ordering will suck. It always does. Because they limit the number of phones that can be preordered. They want the lines at the stores for the press.

They dont care ... and they know you will wait :),

If they release 2 color blue and blk on 6.1 LCD think how many people will buy ,

and of course 6.5 will limit color silver/blk/gold less color option that will bring 6.1 up order , apple marketing ya ,

I think you are right, they will wait until late October or Nov to release the MAX, this will be very annoying. It will keep me with the NOTE 9 for sure a fine phone for sure!!

Not correct, two separate dates will actually create even MORE pent up demand..... unfortunately.....

we have heard of not rumors or leaks showing different shipping dates for the 6.5. I will preorder it Firday or as soon as I can

Using ‘lines’ and ‘press’ as a reason why Apple is somehow holding back pre-order stock doesn’t make much sense considering Apple hasn’t seen the long line mania launch days in quite a few years...

Sure the press will still show up to Apple flagship stores and there will still be a line; but the launch days of seemingly never-ending hour(s) long lines that stretch the length of the entire mall has been a thing of the past for a while now.
