Iphone/Itunes Syncing Error Message

Hello everyone! Just got my Iphone today and did the whole sync thing. I had downloaded some free apps this week in hopes of just syncing when I got it home today. Well, it synced a lot of things, but would not sync my apps. The error message below is what I got. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can correct this please let me know. Thanks for your help in advance.

This is the type of error message one get's when trying to sync cracked apps that they downloaded illegally from pirate sites. When you purchase an app on the App Store, your account and iPhone is verified (signed) to use it. If you purchased/downloaded those apps legally from the App Store you shouldn't get that error message. Are all the apps free or are some paid? Is your iPhone signed in/authorized with your iTunes account?
