well I had my iPhone 3g for a few months now and im getting kind of bored, i was thinking about jailbreaking my phone, but i had a few questions before i jailbreak it.
1) How to jail break
2) i know that i will lose my warrenty plus the extra 2yrs that i have, but what if i do a full restore of my 3g? will i still be on warrenty?
3)should i just wait until the 32g comes out and then just jailbreak my 16g?

1) See stickys.
2) If you restore they shouldn't be able to tell. So yes.
3) It doesn't really matter.

I recently jailbroke my 3g and I had my 2g iPhone jailbroken for a while too. However, for some reason I always go back to the originnal version of the iPhone software. I'm thinking about restoring my iPhone right now actually. Maybe I really don't use all those extra features you get when you jailbreak. I mean video recording, customization, copy/paste, status notification, better camera options, and all that are great. So why do I still want to restore??? I have no idea. Just a little insight for you on what I go through when I jail break.

Thx for the insite, I'm still considering if I should jailbreak of or not. But I would still like to know DID ANYONE I mean ANYONE fullyrestore their jailbroken iPhone and brought it back to apple for anything, and did apple turn you down to fix the problem or just gave you a new set or trouble shoot your iPhone?

1) There are many easy to follow tutorial out there. Jailbreaking is quick and easy!
2) You can restore at any time and apple cannot tell the phone was ever jailbroken.
3)What? Just jailbreak it! its easy and fun... if you dont like it, restore!

Cool let us know what you think. I restored mine last night and I'm missing my Tenuis theme. The regular icons just look so boring. I also miss copy and paste and weather/notifications in the status bar and the video recording/better camera. I'll probably end up jailbreaking again soon. lol

well i tryed to JB the phone but it wouldn't let me, i recently upgraded to 2.2 is their a way to JB a 3g with the 2.2 upgrade or am i just wasting my time?

i notice on a different site "http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1881" it stated that:

Important***: Do not attempt these instructions for the 2.2 iPhone Firmware unless you don't care about a software unlock in the future. Using QuickPwn with the 2.2 iPhone Firmware could reduce your chances of being able to unlock the iPhone 3G.

hmm what are they trying to say? well my phone just lock up and i wont be able to use it will i not be able to do a full restore on my phone if needed to be brought back to apple for a check up? will i not be able to update to a new firmwear and then JB again ?

can i get some answers?

No they mean if you want to unlock your phone and use it for a different carrier such as t mobile. But if you just want to jailbreak it to get more features and stuff then your are fine and you can restore it whenever you want.
