This of course assumes your source is credible. Being a wishfull thinker, I belive it.
Well, June 11 is the day of the WWDC keynote, so that might be where it's coming from.
It's possible they'll show the device in full and start taking orders on the 11th, with the device shipping later in the month.

There is no way the stores will start selling BEFORE Jobs speaks at WWDC on June 11. His keynote is scheduled for 9 AM Pacific time. Therefore, even if he did announce release or order-taking etc., the earliest you would need to be at the store would be 9:30 Pacific time. Which is 11:30 AM in Texas, right?
Doubt the *launch* will be on June 11, but Jobs will either announce when they will be taking orders or the launch date for sure.
I didn't read the "waiting list" article, but I'm wondering: maybe the official AT&T stores do not have waiting lists, but the authorized resellers do?
Apple is going to want to have a huge event for this with fireworks and girls jumping out of cakes. They wont just release it to the stores overnight.
