I have an iphone 4 that i've had for awhile that does not work. When I power it up the iphone, the apple logo turns into a ghost. Note that my iphone has been jailbroken. What the iphone does now is just go in a loop. I've downloaded redsnow and ran that program with no success. I have an older version iOS on the iphone but I'm not sure which one. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

How do I find the current fireware on my iphone? I am noticing that the battery is very weak.

I not able to get to that screen. I get the the activation screen on my Iphone but then it goes back into a loop.

I was able to get the fireware from redsnow. Do you happen to know how long its suppose to stay at the activating screen with the running pineapple?

I'm back...

So, I was not able to restore my Iphone 4. I was able to get the phone out of the loop. Now, on my iphone I have picture of the usb connecting to itunes. Basically my Iphone is in recovery mode. I have the newest itunes downloaded and I click on the restore button in itunes but it gives me an error saying this device is not eligible for for the requested build. My firmwave is iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw

What am I missing?

Thanks

4.2.1 is no longer signed, you can only restore to that if you have SHSH/blobs/hashes for 4.2.1

Did you save those manually? or otherwise check if Cydia saved them for you, use redsn0w to check.

If you have blobs you can restore via redsn0w
Extras/even more/restore

I'm not sure what SHSH/blobs is... I only saved the ipsw. How do I restore my iphone if I don't have the blobs?

Thanks

I got the same problem, but I fixed it today.

Hi, I got the same problem, but I fixed already. Now I decribe my problem:

I use iphone 4, ios 6.0, and I jailbroken it by redsnow. Yesterday, after it ran out of power, it got restart loop (reboot loop), so I could not power off it. I searched many threads saying that I need to restore it by iTune. Even though I upgraded the lated version of iTune and tried many times to restore it, but it got error saying that: ...firmware corrupted...(something like that).

Here is what I did:

- I used redsnow 0.9.13dev4 to select ipsw (I used iPhone3,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw file). Notice that resnow 0.9.12b1 did not work with this file.
- I let my iphone into recovery mode (hold down 2 buttons until it appears logo itune).
- I let it restart by hold one button, and this is the most important thing: Before it gets into springboard screen at the first time, you have to hold power button to power off it (only this time you can power off you iphone without getting into reboot loop).
- Then your iphone will appear the circle timing (sorry, I don't know how to call it), and it will power off.
- Connect it to computer and choose "Just boot." Then click next, and you do DFU as the guide. If redsnow recognizes it before the count down time ends, it will work. (You can connect iphone to the redsnow and do power off steps as decribe above as the same time if this does not work).

Let me know your result.
