iPhone losing WEP password?

Okay, so the other day, something peculiar started happening. My iPhone will no longer "keep" the WEP password for my home network. I'll input it, and things will be fine. I leave home, go to campus/work, connect to their wireless network no problem, but when I get back home, I have to re-enter the PW. When it's 26 digits long and masked by the iPhone, it becomes a major PITA.

Same thing seems to happen if I set the password and eventually go to bed. When I get up the next morning, the PW is gone.

Any thoughts? This has never been a problem in the past, and quite frustrating to be honest.

FWIW, Linksys WRT-55G router, MB 2.0, iPhone and P4 2.8GHz XP Pro PC, Wii, 360, PS3 all connected, no issues.
 
Are you able to swap to WPA? If you can try that to see if you still experience the same problem. Otherwise try doing a restore? :confused:

You should switch to WPA anyways. WEP is so easy to crack, it's not even funny.

Of course, if someone REALLY wants to break your network, WPA can still be cracked, just not as easily.
 
Try: settings - general - resets - reset network settings, let phone reboot and try to the network again.

This only resets wifi settings not AT&T network settings.
 
I've had this happen to me as well. My laptop does the same thing.

I believe it happens whenever the signal is weak. Try again, closer to the router, and see if that makes a difference.

You may have to sleep it, and wake it back up.

I think the reason for keeping your home network secure is more to stop others using your internet connection and poking around on your hard drive.

WEP is very easy to hack. (before I had a new router i was using WEP and my neighbours son hacked it was was downloading torrent movies on my DSL connection)

WEP should not be used if avoidable (ie unless a device on the netwtork is too old to support WPA.

AS to not remembering the password, I assume you phone is set to remembeig joined networks, so I presume it is a lease issuing issue with the router.
