Nutshell: Protected content (apps, videos, songs, ringtones) will not play on my iPhone. Can I reauthorize without syncing and restoring? I'm away from my computer for a couple of days.
Here is the longer version:
Yesterday, my (and my wife's, on the same plan) iPhone rebooted for no reason and came back up with the "iPhone has been activated" message. Our phones both rebooted within a few minutes of each other. I went to sync my phone and my computer treated it as if it had never been synced to that computer. When I manually told it to sync, it showed up in iTunes as just "iPhone" instead of what I renamed it. The app update button didn't work correctly either. It said I had an update (which I did), but when I pressed the button, it put me to the iTunes Store screen saying I had already updated but had no account in the parentheses. Also, all my podcasts tried to redownload episodes I already had or had already deleted.
Everything synced fine, I did not get the warning about an unauthorized iPhone. Protected content played on my computer just fine. It also played on the phone just fine.
Today, I played around in Facebook on the iPhone, quit, let the phone lock itself, and then tried to launch Tweetie. Loaded up and disappeared. My wife called, no ringtone played. Went into the iPod app, no protected content of any kind played and gave me an error. Is it possible to reauthorize this without restoring the phone?
